Boston Area Working Group on African Political Economy Conference
The Boston Area Working Group in African Political Economy (BWGAPE) is an annual meeting of scholars connected by an interest in the political and economic development of countries and societies in the African continent. In the meeting, we structure the discussion around written submissions; so there are no presentations. Papers are circulated in advance, read by everyone, and sessions go straight to deep, constructive discussion.
Participants come from institutions around the New England area, including Boston University, Brown, Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Yale, among others.
This year's conference (Spring 2025) will be held Friday, May 16th, at Brown University with the generous support of Brown's Center for Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
